Quentin, you'd be proud!

The day we met 'George'!

Today, Hill Mead were finally greeted by 'George', the newest of the book bus fleet! We were so excited to hear about his exciting journey ahead in our workshop and assembly. The book bus project group were even lucky enough to have a sneaky peak inside...

What did you learn about George today? What did you enjoy the most?

  1. Well done to the Book Bus Project Group at Hill Mead School for planning George's route from London to Malawi. It's a long journey through many countries and with your help we won't get lost now! Thank you for being such wonderful hosts, we really enjoyed our visit and hope to return some day to see you all again!

    1. You are quite right Jenniel. Lots of children in schools all around the world are not as lucky as us at Hill Mead so we need to share our love of books and reading.

Thank you for commenting on our blog. It was a shame that you couldn't come to our school with David, Julie, Tony and George as we've heard so much about you and love your illustrations. In class we have been reading one of Roahl Dahl's books that you've illustrated called the 'Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator'. Our best bit so far was when the glass elevator crashed through the roof of the factory and blasted into orbit. We really liked the illustration which matches this on page 15 because it helped us to imagine what was inside Roald Dahl's and inside your imagination. Next time David visits, please could you come too?
